Loft Conversion Planning Permission

loft conversion planning permission is NOT needed when when loft conversion planning permission IS needed, we will provide the following
  1. it is the first extension
  2. it is a terraced house and the loft conversion
    does not exceed 40 cubic metres or
    it is not a terraced house and the loft conversion
    does not exceed 50 cubic metres
  3. it is NOT in a conservation area
  4. it is NOT on a junction of two public highways
  1. get a site plan to submit to the planning authority
    & building control, sometimes available from the planning authority
    if not use a copy of an ordinance survey map
  2. get a block plan to submit to the planning authority,
    sometimes available from the planning authority & building control.
    This plan contains the overall dimension of the site,
    the position of the building on the site and the dimensions
    of the building
  3. drawings of the property before proposed loft conversion
    to submit to the planning authority & building control.
    This drawing will contain elevations of the areas affected,
    front, side or rear, and cross sections showing
    stairways, doors and windows.
  4. drawings of the property after proposed loft conversion
    to submit to the planning authority & building control.
    This drawing will contain elevations of the areas affected,
    front, side or rear, and cross sections showing
    stairways, doors and windows.
  5. local planning authority will take 2 to 3 months to complete
  6. local building control will take 1 to 1 and a half months to complete
